In 2006 and 2019, Saint Thomas School was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. For the last 12 years, the school has been recognized as a Service Learning School of Contribution. We have additionally been awarded the The Jefferson Medal for Outstanding Public Service.
Throughout its history, our graduates have gone on to become business and community leaders, lawyers, doctors, school teachers, priests and religious, and loyal, informed citizens. Today Saint Thomas School remains dedicated to this tradition of excellence, providing a complete Catholic education, dedicated to service in a challenging and thriving academic community.
Saint Thomas Parish was founded in 1902 with the school opening its doors in January of 1903. As was the case with most Catholic schools at the time, classroom instruction was provided by religious orders and school fees were limited to books and basic supplies.
Today, our classroom instruction is provided by professionally trained lay educators who firmly believe in the value of a Catholic faith-based education, and the operation of the school is made possible through tuition collection and a generous parish subsidy.

Saint Thomas School promotes self-discipline through clarity of moral vision that is based on the Gospel. Students are challenged to be Christ-like in word and action. They are asked to examine their choices and action in light of the Ten Commandments and the Gospel law of love. They are given a theological foundation for ethical behavior. Students are not good because they act in accord with rules and expectations. Rather, because students are good, i.e. sons and daughters of God, they are expected to act and make choices that are in keeping with their inherent, God-given dignity.
