Mrs. Arnett attended Northern Kentucky University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master in Education. She has been in the classroom for 20 years. During her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family and read.
Mrs. Alexa Baudendistel is the Junior High Math & Social Studies teacher. Mrs. Baudendistel holds a Bachelor degree in Middle School Education from Thomas More College. She graduated in May 2017 with her Masters degree from Georgetown College in Teacher Leadership and Technology. This is her eighth year as an educator. She is a parishioner of Saint Thomas, an alum of the school, and loves giving back to the Tomcats by teaching and coaching. In her spare time, Mrs. B is probably found scrolling through Pinterest, competing in beach volleyball tournaments, or hanging with her family.
A native of Dublin, Ireland, Mrs. Orla Bowman moved to Cincinnati, OH in 2003 to pursue a Master of Music degree at CCM at the University of Cincinnati. In addition to her music studies, Mrs. Bowman's professional background is in Office Management and Education. In her free time, she loves to travel "home" to Ireland to spend time with family. Mrs. Bowman's husband is the Principal Flute with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and their daughter is a current student at Saint Thomas School.
Mrs. Eberhart has a Bachelor’s degree from Thomas More University and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. She has been a preschool teacher’s aide for 6 years. She lives with her husband of 20+ years and has 3 children who have enjoyed the St. Thomas education. She loves to read, cook, watch soccer, and learn new things about preschool age children.
Fr. Enzweiler is a native son of St. Thomas. He attended school here, Newport Central Catholic High School, and Thomas More College. Fr. Enzweiler remained in the parish while doing his graduate studies at the University of Cincinnati, earning a Ph.D. in Physics. He taught for three years in central New York at SUNY College at Cortland and then returned to the parish when he became a faculty member of the NKU Physics and Geology Department. After eleven years, he began seminary studies for the Diocese of Covington and completed a Pre-Theology program at Mundelein Seminary in Chicago, where he was offered the opportunity to study in Rome. Living at the Pontifical North American College, he studied at the Gregorian University. Fr. Enzweiler was ordained a deacon by Bishop Foys on March 19, 2005, and a priest on June 23, 2006.
Lois has worked in the Saint Thomas kitchen for 20 years. She works for the love of the children she serves as well as the dedication she has toward Catholic education. Her husband and four children are all Saint Thomas graduates. Lois seems to be the only family member who hasn't managed to find her way out.
Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Northern Kentucky University in 2016. She is a lifelong parishioner of Saint Thomas and graduated from Saint Thomas in 2008. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with family.
Mrs. Holtz graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She received her Master of Education from Northern Kentucky University. Mrs. Holtz is a veteran teacher of 23 years and is currently in her 20th year at St. Thomas. She loves spending time with her family. In her spare time she also enjoys reading and being outside.
Prior to ordination, Fr. Ross was the Director of Educational Technology at Guardian Angels School in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati where he served on the Administration Team and managed a large 1 to 1 computing program for grades 5 – 8. In addition to his Masters in Divinity, Fr. Ross holds a BA in Business Administration with a minor in Computer Science and has certifications from Microsoft, Google and Apple.
Mr. Markey is in his fourth year at St. Thomas School. He lives in Union, KY with his wife Jodie, daughter Lydia Emily Jean and son Luke Timothy Paul. Mr. Markey attended the University of Kentucky for his Bachelor’s of Music Education and Asbury University for his Master’s of Special Education. His main instrument is trumpet and he performs for weddings, social events and is a volunteer bugler for the Buglers Across America. Orff-Schulwerk music teaching techniques, songs, recorders, and instruments are used in our music class on a regular basis.
Michele has been at Saint Thomas for 5 years. She is married, has two boys and a sweet, black cat named Zoe. Michele loves to cook, bake and cherish every moment spent with family.
Mrs. Meyer graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master's of Education. She has been in the classroom for 16 years, 9 of them at Saint Thomas. She is a lifelong member of the Saint Thomas Parish and even graduated from Saint Thomas School. It has been her lifelong dream to become a teacher at the school and give back to the parish community. She and her husband Chris have been blessed with four sons and one daughter. She enjoys spending her free time with her family.
Mrs. Myers attended the University of Kentucky (BS in Management Dietetics), Cincinnati State (computer programming courses), and Northern Kentucky University (Masters in Education) in the areas of elementary education and middle grades math and science. Prior to entering into the teaching field, she worked with computers for 12 years, 6 of those as a programmer.
She has been in the education field since December 2004, substitute teaching in several different area schools, and teaching Junior High science, math, language arts, and math intervention for 1st & 2nd grades.
Mr. Schmidt is a graduate of NKU where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Sculpture. This is Mr. Schmidt's 4th year as the K-8 Art teacher at Saint Thomas School. He also teaches part time at two other diocesan schools throughout the week. When he is not teaching, you will find him woodworking, landscaping, or cooking. He and his wife, Kaitlin recently adopted a puppy who they named Maple.
Miss Schnell has a Master of Education degree from Xavier University with minors in English and Biology from Thomas More College. She took American Sign Language from Cincinnati State and enjoys incorporating this into her First Grade curriculum. This is Miss Schnell’s 12th year working at Saint Thomas. She enjoys spending time with her nephew Glenn, her family and of course, her golden retrievers. Miss Schnell loves cooking and baking, she also enjoys swimming, paddle boarding, painting, sewing, and boating.
Mrs. Sheets received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Louisville and her Masters in Education from the University of Kentucky. She spent four years teaching middle school science and special education in Lexington, KY. She also spent several years teaching adult education at the Newport Adult Education Center. This is her sixth year at Saint Thomas assisting in the kindergarten classroom. When not at school, Mrs. Sheets enjoys running, hiking, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Simons holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Elementary Education from Northern Kentucky University. She has taught 22 years, with 14 of those years at St. Thomas. Mrs. Simons enjoys playing volleyball and running. She spends much of her free time with her two children as they play sports and participate in activities.
Mrs. VonHandorf holds a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Morehead State University, She has a Masters of Education with an Area of Concentration in Reading from Northern KY University. This is her second year working with students at Saint Thomas, She has been teaching for 32 years. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Ms. Lily Welscher is the third-grade homeroom teacher and the second-grade phonics teacher. Ms. Welscher received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from NKU. This is her first year teaching and her first year at Saint Thomas. She is so happy to be a part of this amazing school community! In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family. Ms. Welscher also has a love for Books, Rainbow Organization and Technology.
Mrs. Weyer holds a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Studies from Eastern Kentucky University and has completed her Kentucky Director’s Credential. She started Saint Thomas Preschool in 1994 and during her 27 years at Saint Thomas Preschool, the program has grown to 4 classes (Two Pre-K classes, a 4-year-old class and a 3-year-old class); which have earned a 5-Star rating from the state of Kentucky! Ms. Kim enjoys spending her free time with her husband, 4 children, dog and one-year-old grandaughter!
