Mrs. Arnett attended Northern Kentucky University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master in Education. She has been in the classroom for 20 years. During her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family and read.
Mrs. Alexa Baudendistel is the Junior High Math & Social Studies teacher. Mrs. Baudendistel holds a Bachelor degree in Middle School Education from Thomas More College with concentrations in Math and Social Studies. She graduated in May 2017 with her Graduate degree from Georgetown College in Teacher Leadership with an endorsement in Technology. This is her sixth year as an educator, fifth year at STS. She is a parishioner of St. Thomas, an alum of the school, and loves giving back to the Tomcats by teaching and coaching. In her spare time, Mrs. B is probably found scrolling through Pinterest, competing in beach volleyball tournaments, or hanging with her family,
Mrs. Brennan graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She received her Master of Education from Xavier University. This is her 7th year of teaching, her 4th year at St. Thomas. When not in the classroom, Mrs. Brennan enjoys travelling, reading, crafts, and yoga; but most of all, she enjoys spending time with her family.
Mrs. Eberhart has a Bachelor’s degree from Thomas More and Masters in Social Work from University of Kentucky. She has been a preschool teacher’s aide for a several years. She lives with her husband of 20+ years and has 3 children who have enjoyed the St. Thomas education. She loves to read, cook, watch soccer, and learn new things about preschool age children.
Fr. Enzweiler is a native son of St. Thomas. He attended school here, Newport Central Catholic High School, and Thomas More College. Fr. Enzweiler remained in the parish while doing his graduate studies at the University of Cincinnati, earning a Ph.D. in Physics. He taught for three years in central New York at SUNY College at Cortland and then returned to the parish when he became a faculty member of the NKU Physics and Geology Department. After eleven years, he began seminary studies for the Diocese of Covington and completed a Pre-Theology program at Mundelein Seminary in Chicago, where he was offered the opportunity to study in Rome. Living at the Pontifical North American College, he studied at the Gregorian University. Fr. Enzweiler was ordained a deacon by Bishop Foys on March 19, 2005, and a priest on June 23, 2006.
Mrs. Erickson graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. This is her second year at St. Thomas School. Mrs. Erickson teaches Pre-school through 8th grade Spanish. In addition, she is the school librarian. In her free time, she likes to travel, hike, and camp.
Ms. Flamm holds a Bachelor of Art. from Thomas More College; Master of Art from The University of Cincinnati; and a Master of Education in Administration and Leadership from Xavier University. Before entering academics, she traveled three continents and studied the language of Japanese when considering an expatriate position in Nagoya, Japan. The past twenty years have been focused on Catholic education as an educator. She loves to travel and is committed to continuous learning.
Lois has worked in the Saint Thomas kitchen for 20 years. She works for the love of the children she serves as well as the dedication she has toward Catholic education. Her husband and four children are all Saint Thomas graduates. Lois seems to be the only family member who hasn't managed to find her way out.
Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Northern Kentucky University in 2016. She is a lifelong parishioner of Saint Thomas and graduated from Saint Thomas in 2008. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with family.
Mrs. Holtz graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She received her Master of Education from Northern Kentucky University. Mrs. Holtz is a veteran teacher of 21 years and is currently in her 18th year at St. Thomas. Mrs. Holtz teaches 4th grade and also instructs 3rd grade social studies. She loves spending time with her family. In her spare time she also enjoys reading and being outside.
Fr. Kelsch was ordained two years ago in 2017 by Bishop Foys, and has lived in Northern Kentucky most of his life. He grew up in Augusta, KY with his parents and two younger brothers where he attended Saint Augustine Elementary and Augusta High School. He then lived in Cold Spring for several years and earned a BA in Business and Technology from NKU. During his time in Cold Spring, he worked for a local bank and was a music director for a local parish. At this time, he felt God asking more of him. After a series of failed negotiations, he “decided” to try out seminary and entered Saint Vincent in Latrobe, PA., which eventually led to today!
Mr. Markey is in his fourth year at St. Thomas School. He lives in Union, KY with his wife Jodie, daughter Lydia Emily Jean and son Luke Timothy Paul. Mr. Markey attended the University of Kentucky for his Bachelor’s of Music Education and Asbury University for his Master’s of Special Education. His main instrument is trumpet and he performs for weddings, social events and is a volunteer bugler for the Buglers Across America. Orff-Schulwerk music teaching techniques, songs, recorders, and instruments are used in our music class on a regular basis.
Michelle has been at Saint Thomas for 5 years. She is married, has two boys and a sweet, black cat named Zoe. Michelle loves to cook, bake and cherish every moment spent with family.
Mrs. Meyer graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master's of Education. She has been in the classroom for 15 years, 8 of them at St. Thomas. She is a lifelong member of the St. Thomas Parish and even graduated from St. Thomas School. It has been her lifelong dream to become a teacher at the school and give back to the parish community. She and her husband Chris have been blessed with four sons and one daughter. She enjoys spending her free time with her family.
Mrs. Myers attended the University of Kentucky (BS in Management Dietetics), Cincinnati State (computer programming courses), and Northern Kentucky University (Masters in Education) in the areas of elementary education and middle grades math and science. Prior to entering into the teaching field, she worked with computers for 12 years, 6 of those as a programmer.
She has been in the education field since December 2004, substitute teaching in several different area schools, and teaching Junior High science, math, language arts, and math intervention for 1st & 2nd grades.
Kelly Olliges graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She lives in Fort Thomas with her husband Matt, daughter Clare, who is also a student at St. Thomas, and her dog Sammy. She worked in the legal field for 13+ years before making a shift to child care for 8 years. She was president of STS Mother’s Club prior to joining the team. When she is not teaching gym she can be found substitute teaching, volunteering for various school functions, coaching basketball, volleyball, and soccer or putting on Friday Fun Club. She enjoys cooking, running, biking, and staying active.
Mr. William Panagakos is a graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology and in Theology. This is his first year teaching at St. Thomas. Prior to this, he held a position as Campus Minister at a Catholic College-Prep High School where he also taught Theology and Philosophy to Juniors and Seniors. Mr. Panagakos and his wife also serve St. Thomas Church working with evangelization and catechesis. Outside of his duties at St. Thomas, he enjoys rock climbing, running and playing music. He, his wife and their two daughters live in Newport.
Mrs. Rosing holds a Bachelor in Elementary Education from Northern Kentucky University. She is working on Master of Education at Xavier University. This is Mrs. Rosing’s fourth year of teaching at Saint Thomas. Mrs. Rosing enjoys cooking, walking and gardening. She spends much of her free time with her family.
Mrs. Sams holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Northern Kentucky University. She has seven years of teaching experience and a passion for learning. Mrs. Sams has a great love for spending time with her family, running marathons, reading and enjoying good food. She is excited to be at Saint Thomas School and looks forward to learning and growing with our Saint Thomas family.
Adam Schmidt has been the Art teacher at St. Thomas for 2 years. He graduated from NKU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Sculpture. He loves working with the students and seeing their creativity come to fruition!
Miss. Schnell has a Master of Education degree from Xavier University with minors in English and Biology from Thomas More College. She took American Sign Language from Cincinnati State and enjoys incorporating this into her First Grade curriculum. This will be Miss. Schnell’s 10th year working at St. Thomas. She enjoys spending time with her family and her golden retrievers. Miss. Schnell loves cooking and baking, she also enjoys swimming, paddle boarding, painting, sewing, and boating.
Mrs. Sheets received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Louisville and her masters in Education from the University of Kentucky. She spent four years teaching middle school science and special education in Lexington, KY. She also spent several years teaching adult education at the Newport Adult Education Center. This is her third year at St. Thomas assisting in the kindergarten classrooms. When not at school, Mrs. Sheets can be found teaching classes at the YMCA, coaching the St. Thomas cross country team with her husband and spending time traveling with her family.
Mrs. Simons holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Elementary Education from Northern Kentucky University. She has taught 22 years, with 14 of those years at St. Thomas. Mrs. Simons enjoys playing volleyball and running. She spends much of her free time with her two children as they play sports and participate in activities.
Dr. Sell-Smith is a licensed clinical psychologist who has over 20 years of experience working in the field of mental health. She has a doctoral degree in Psychology from Union Institute, a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Penn State. Dr. Sell-Smith also works in private practice at Viewpoint Psychological Services. She has three children and enjoys spending her free time having fun with her family by hiking, attending sporting events and riding roller coasters.
A graduate of Highlands High School, Mr. Tarvin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master in Education from the University of Kentucky. He received his Math certification from Northern Kentucky University. In his 50+ years of teaching he has taught at Newport, Kenton County, Dixie and St. Thomas. He has coached and officiated baseball, basketball, football and cross country. Mr. Tarvin has a great love for hiking, amusement parks, reading and good food.
Mrs. VonHandorf holds a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Morehead State University, She has a Masters of Education with an Area of Concentration in Reading from Northern KY University. This is her second year working with students at Saint Thomas, She has been teaching for 32 years. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren,
Mrs. Weyer holds a Bachelors degree in Child and Family Studies from Eastern Kentucky University. She recently completed her Kentucky Director’s Credential. She started St Thomas Preschool in 1994 and during her 25 years at St Thomas Preschool, the program has grown to 4 classes (2 Pre K classes, 4 year old class and 3 year old class) and earned a 5 Star rating from the state of Kentucky! Ms. Kim enjoys spending her free time with her husband, 4 children and her dog, Libby!
