Students need to be in dress code at all times while on school property, including arrival and dismissal.
The Principal and faculty reserve the right to enforce any type of dress code not specifically mentioned in this policy if not appropriate for the school.
Shirts – Plain, all white or light blue polo or white Oxford, tucked in, sized to fit, clean, pressed look. (Only white undergarments may be worn).
Jumper – Plaid uniform from Schoolbelles, must be no more than 3” above the knee or 1” below the knee. Jumper must be worn with a plain all white traditional round collar blouse. White or blue polos may not be worn with the jumper.
Pants – Dress navy twill. No double seams or patch pockets; no faded pants.
Socks – Solid white or navy only (no logos). Opaque, non-sheen footed tights in navy or white.
Blouse – White polo or Oxford cloth, button down, collared blouse, short or long sleeved. Must be tucked into the skirt. (Only white undergarments may be worn).
Skirt – Plaid box pleated or pleated skirt from Schoolbelles, must be no more than 3” above the knee or 1” below the knee.
Pants/Shorts – Dress light Khaki twill. No double seams or patch pockets; no faded pants.
Socks – Solid white or navy only (no logos). Opaque, non-sheen footed tights in navy or white

Shoes – Traditional tied casual shoes, below the ankle, gym/tennis shoes are permitted. Gym shoes must be a reasonable color. Shoes not mentioned above (i.e. clogs of any type, army boots, lighted gym shoes, or shoes with wheels, backless shoes, opened toe shoes, moccasins) may not be worn.
The Principal will determine if shoes are inappropriate, unreasonable, or unsafe for school wear.
Belts – A solid black or brown belt must be worn with belt looped pants/shorts. Navy blue belts from Schoolbelles can be worn with navy blue pants/shorts. Belts may not have studs or other decorations.
Polo – White and Light Blue polo are to be worn with pants and shorts only.
Sweatshirts – Gray or Navy; solid color with the school embroidered logo. Must be hipped length and no hoods and not over-sized. Uniform blouse/shirt worn underneath (with collar over sweatshirt).
Sweatshirts with the new school logo can be purchased through the school.
Name Tags – Name tags are part of the student’s uniform. Each student receive a nametag at the beginning of the school year. Replacement cost is $5.00.
Shorts – Navy shorts may be worn in Aug., Sept., Oct. (1st Quarter) and April, May, June (4th Quarter).
Grades 6-8 may wear light khaki shorts instead of the traditional blue. Shorts must be no more than 3” above the knee or 1” below the knee.
Hair – Must be clean and well-groomed and the style must be considered “school appropriate.” For girls hair should be out of the eyes and boys’ hair must be above the collar and above the eyebrows. Fads, such as, but not limited to, Mohawks, numbers, tails, beaded, are not permitted. Noticeable hair coloring, including highlighting, streaking, or alteration of natural hair color is not permitted. If a hair
infraction occurs, a student will have one week to reverse the condition before suspension occurs. Facial hair is not permitted.
Jewelry/Make-Up/Hats/Fads, Etc. – Students are not permitted to wear make-up.
Permitted jewelry – Girls may wear a pair of small post earrings, small loop earrings are permitted for 7th and 8th grade girls.
No tattoos. No polished or artificial nails. Boys may not wear earrings or other jewelry. (Principal and teachers reserve the right to ask jewelry to be removed if deemed distracting and unsafe.) Hats, jackets, coats, scarves, bandanas, and leg warmers may not be worn in the classroom.
Dark Glasses – May not be worn indoors unless medically prescribed.
Out of Uniform Dress Code
The Principal, faculty and staff reserve the right to prohibit any type of dress not specifically mentioned in this policy, if they do not feel it is school appropriate.
All clothes may be either casual or dressy, but must be clean, neat and reasonable size for the student.
Uniform items may not have prints, designs, edging, piping, contrast stitching, rivets, strips, bows, monograms, emblems, logos (except for the St. Thomas logo), or writing other than official sweatshirts.
Shirts/Tops – Presentable shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters with or without a collar are allowed. They may have hoods, a sport logo, or a holiday message. Rock groups, and/or any negatives messages are not permitted. No tank tops or tight fitting (spandex) shirts. Shirts must be hip length.
Pants – Jeggings, tight pants, sweat pants or Leggings cannot be worn as pants. Jeans must be free from rips and tears.
Skirts/Dresses – Girls are allowed to wear skirts or dresses, no shorter than 3” above or 1” below the knee. Spandex skirts and dresses are not permitted.
Shorts – Long jean shorts and capri types are allowed. No Spandex shorts. Long athletic shorts (to the knee) are allowed. Shorts must be no shorter than 3” above or 1” below the knee.
Socks/Shoes – Socks must be worn with shoes. When out of uniform, clogs, flip flops, backless sandals, or opened toe shoes are not permitted.
Jewelry/Earrings – Girls only – all jewelry follows regular dress code standard. Chains hanging from the belt or clothing or not permitted.
Spirit Wear – Every 3rd Wednesday (early dismissal) students may wear spirit t-shirts, spirit sweatshirts or school spirit polo with school uniforms. No Team shirts!
Physical Education Class Dress Code
Grades 5-8 must wear school P.E. uniform. Gym shoes may be the same worn to school as long as they are clean, do not have marking black bottoms and can be tied or have a Velcro fasteners. Slip on shoes are not allowed for P.E. Class.
Dress Code Enforcement – If a dress code violation occurs, parents may be called to bring in whatever item is needed. Students will receive consequences for ongoing dress code violations.
NOTE: The wearing of “navy skorts” and the sweatshirt with the 3 crosses are
acceptable until the end of the 2017-2018 school year (June 1, 2018).
